Certainly those are points to its credit, but it doesn't really invalidate the point that worshipping SICP means you waited until someone else gave you a book before you were really interested in learning how to code. You still waited until university. You are celebrating your own passivity.

I don't look down upon the book's convenience, only the implied dependence of everyone who keeps bringing it up. Maybe make the same jokes about OOP books?
