The best OS is the one with the most relevant software and the most hardware compatibility. Even fucking SOLARIS would be "the best" if it had the software for it.

Linux is a good OS in "theory". Until they can actually break through into the desktop, productivity and other relevant markets as anything more than a toy OS (android), it's still "shit".

>mfw I run slackware 14, gentoo with dev-kernel builds and Windows 8
>mfw you're still fucking retarded

Most Windows software isn't relevant. Your usual Windows software isn't packaged in a standard format for automatic updating and deployment, doesn't support standard data interchange formats or protocols, and can't be used at all without dealing with a clunky GUI.

and the most hardware compatibility
Linux runs on more systems than Windows. The latest hardware is usually brought up in Linux before Windows (do you honestly think ARM64 booted NT first? Don't make me laugh). Linux will keep working on old hardware longer (Windows 7 on a 486 is useless because none of the most resource intensive components can be disabled; Linux has never had that problem).

By your own argument, Windows cannot be considered to be "the best OS" unless you're only addressing people who have no Internet connection and don't do any real computing on their computers.
