vimscript is a joke. The fact that you need to read a HOWTO and implement a silly hack just to limit config actions to window creation instead of repeating every time you cursor in speaks volumes for its usefulness. What idiot would design an UI scripting language where re-configuration isn't idempotent is beyond me.
