Why do I keep getting ads for college?

Are Google and other ad networks trying to call me stupid?

Don't feel bad, I got ads for children's clothes all the time until I got around to blocking targeted advertising (read: all advertising). I didn't mind them much; even though I never bought anything, it was nice too look at, if extremely awkward.
