What is /prog/'s view on the language "Scratch"?
I personally don't like it myself.

Unfortunately, kids are slightly dumber than we were at their age. So C (or Lisp) is not an option. You see, they can connect on facebook to play all the shitty games they want.
Back in my days, if we had the chance to have access to a personal computer, we had to buy a magazine and type what was called a "listing" when we wanted to play something. (Americans just bought Nintendos, they don't know about our shitty Sinclair and Schneider). Programs were mostly in BASIC (PEEK and POKE, ah the memories) or in Z80 ASM for the most curious. At school we were taught LOGO. From there, learning Pascal (or C), another instruction set, or even Lisp was easy.
It's 2013, what do you reckon for children? UCBLogo? Javascript? (poor kids!)
