Anybody who embeds a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference into his documentation or a forum post should be smacked by a Vogon Slapstick every time he does so, until he learns that 42 is not funny or entertaining, and neither are other constants and names picked from HHGG at random.

No it's not, since Furry and Touhou people at least know that they are creepy and other people don't give a shit about that stuff and therefore don't pester them with it. Compared to nerd pop culture which seems to be everywhere atm.
