Never saw or heard anybody actually say anything about how girls suck at programming, other than on various forums for misogynic nerds.  Studied software engineering at a university (free in my country).  We had plenty of girls, about 30% of students.  Most of them had decent grades because of attendance, but all of them sucked at actual creative programming.  Two years later, none of them works as a programmer, some are testers/QA, others have moved to entirely other fields.
