I can almost hear the collective FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU--- from everyone who was pissed off at the paywall and wanted to read an article or two occasionally.

IEEE has always been the epitome of uselessness. It's where every substandard engineer goes to to feel important. Even their student branches were disgusting shitfest existing only so that the most inept and incompetent of the student population could engage in wooing activities with a male-female ratio never going below 10:1. I am not in the very least surprised to see this long term scam of "hurr pay us and give us your papers so that we can have others to pay us to see yours" contains people incompetent to the degree to cause such a breach.
