In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat writing essay on nationalism.
"What are you doing?", asked Minsky.
"I'm criticizing Nazism", Sussman replied.
"Why do you disparage Zionists?", asked Minsky.
"I don't want us, Jews, to participate in nationalism", Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes.
"Why do you close your eyes?" Sussman asked his teacher.
"So that all the nations, ethnicities and races will disappear."
At that moment, Sussman became a Zionist.

Nationalism is an attack/defense mechanism for a world with multiple ethnicities. You can drop nationalism if everyone else drops it too, however if some people drop it while other people don't, those who do become very vulnerable, which by 2012 became self-evident data. To think that some people might have not left nationalism along with you (think: all diasporas in the world, not just Jews) is not conspiracy thinking anymore, it is quickly becoming mainstream with support from major political parties. Some sacrifices will have to be made, like deporting of Turks from Germany, because otherwise it may blow up all over the world and millions of lives will be lost.
I don't think Jews are to blame, because they were, and are, largely powerless, albeit with a lot of media exposure, and the real power may still be in the hands of Anglo-Saxon, French, Italian ``Old Money'' families, who did all this to increase tensions among the populations.
