Visual Studio 2012 Premium or 2010 Ultimate?

Name: Anonymous 2012-09-01 18:57

New Windows install on ssd.  Deciding on which visual studio version to install.  I have read that the ultimate version has a history tracer for the debugger while the premium version does not.  I have access to 2010 ultimate and 2012 premium.  I don't know about the differences between 2012 and 2010 though.  My main purpose for visual studio will be directx and opengl demoscene programming.

Jokes aside, even programming GODS use visual studio: http://www.iquilezles.org/www/material/isystem1k4k/isystem1k4k.htm

For people who don't know who this is, its the guy who programmed "elevated" for RGBA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YWMGuh15nE

What renders that youtube video is a 4 kilobyte program.

Once he-who-must-not-be-named gives us his infinite compression algorithm we can all make demos that easily pack to under 1K.

2012 has better support for Sepples'11 and fewer bugs.

I'm probably going to download and install both.  It's just that I have limited space on my SSD (240GB) and if one is clearly better than the other I would prefer to only download and install one.

>using programs that take so much memory that a handful of user programs in 240 GB of memory might be tight.
>not using a 1 GB operating system and using the other 239 GB for data mining the stock market.
