you have to install the compiler, the assembler, the profiler, the emulated unix environment, the platform sdk, python, perl, java, the hardware drivers, the hardware monitor, the dvd burning tools, the dvd drive emulation software, a usable web browser, a usable email client, a usable image editing software, a backup solution, ...

some of these even cost money and you have to download / install them one by one ( except if you use cygwin ).
