We all know autoconf/automake suck balls. But whenever you see a project that uses its own build system because they "weren't good enough" holy shit do you know you're in for something special. And by special I mean fucking terrible!

yes, we need a newnix, ... unix was for the old days. we have gigs now, SSD's etc... Why the fuck do I need to bother with files and processes? Why can't I just use persistent data-structures in my programming languages? With a single global garbage collector to clean my mess up. Just give me lightweight-threads, channels and capabilities. Drop the entire file/process paradigm, it sucks anyway.
Think of all the userland cruft that would disappear from code everywhere. We just agree over some basic interfaces and we can drop 90% of the crap out there.
