Mikhail Menshikov was in fact the main ideologist of Russian ethno-nationalism before the "Bolshevik Revolution", and by that I mean the pure racial nationalism, not clerical or Black Hundreds of the monarchy.
After the revolution, Menshikov was suspended from work in the newspaper, September 14, 1918 arrested by the Cheka at his country house in Valdai, and September 20 was shot on the shores of Lake Valdai in front of his six children.
