A mental hospital patient is being tested if he's ready to go to home and live on his own yet. The doctor draws a circle and asks the patient "What do you see in this picture?" The patient replies: "It's an elephant." The doctor then proceeds to draw a square and asks the patient the same question, to which the patient replies "Elephant." Finally the doctor draws a triangle and asks the patient what does the picture represent. The patient says: "Elephant again."
"It seems you are not ready to go home yet." the doctor tells the patient.
"Why not?" the patient asks, surprised and confused.
"Well, it's not considered very sane to see elephants everywhere", says the doctor.
Upon hearing this the patient flips out and screams "Is it my fucking fault when you're the one who's drawing nothing but fucking elephants!?"
I think there's something deep about this joke, but I can't quite catch what.
