Programming is shit

I'm going to school for Computer Science, but after a year, i've realized programming is a shitty job and completely boring 99% of the time.

Unless i find myself something really interesting, i don't even put the effort into programming random toy things. It's just so boring.


Is this normal?

Programming is only boring if you don't "get it."  Being able to program is being able to make the universe do what you want it to do.
