I just tried going outside, but no help! It seems like people only want to talk with you if you have money as well as a tendency to spend it. Also, I've noticed that friends can be made easily by hanging around the smokers, although I'm not willing to try that since they all smoke yucky tobacco which is BAD FOR YOU!
I've identified two types of social environments; with the first you're all occupied with an activity and you talk only at certain times, and with the second you're not occupied with anything and talking is the main activity. I think I'd like to try the first type, because I imagine the second type would be fairly stressful!
