system class in see-plas-plas

I'm curious - how do you define your system class? Is it entirely static, or defined in every file as 'extern DatCoolClass *itsInstance'.

If system class is an abstract idea to you, then fawk off, or imagine you needed to access variable holding the app's state - best put in one control class.
