Is ruby really faster than python?

I recently found a little benchmarking blog post[1] on the internetz which says that ruby is actually a bit faster than python. I am bit suprised because people always that python is a lot faster then ruby...

according to those benchmarks the only languages that should be used are: fortran (old shit), ada (old shit), c++ (shit syntax), ATS (what the fuck is this shit?), c (good shit), and java (shit)
