I recommend first learning the language of Objective-C, then doing iOS coding.  Start by getting Objective-C for Dummies, or if you're not new to coding, O'Reilly Objective-C.  Read the Wikipedia page on Objective-C as well.  Then get the Apress book on iOS development and you'll be on your way.

I started it a while back, and I have to say, it's one of my least favorite coding languages.  If you need help, I can help you over email.
