python GUI

hey /prog/,

so a local business owner in my neibhorhood is having me write a program for a "order taking machine". basically a touchscreen computer that allows employees to create an invoice for phone orders, and automatically generate invoices for web orders.

im writing the whole back end in python, but ive never written a GUI, let alone a GUI with a touch interface. i see the are numerous frameworks for python and im thinking of using kivi because its cross platform, and it has built in functions for touch.

do you think im going in the right direction? any advice from seasoned python/GUI programmers?

tl;dr looking for the best way to write a "touch" GUI in python

What did you expect? You're on /prog/. Every asshole here thinks using command line arguments are so much easier than GUIs. So no, no one on /prog/ has ever written anything with a GUI. I'm so bad at GUIs I wrote a GUI in AutoIt that just called a Perl script when they hit a button.
