Lighten Up! [Feminism]

Since when is ``not being offended'' a right?  In society, if you're in a situation which you don't like, you have the necessary rights to just walk away.  A company may do you an extra service by intervening in interpersonal relationships among employees, but that's up to them and it's not your fundamental right.

I know your dumb feminist brain is too slow to understand this, so I'll give you an example instead:  I'm a fat fuck.  I go through a particular neighbourhood and get laughed at, which makes me angry.  Do I go call the police on them?  No, I just walk away.  I go to work, and my coworkers make fun of me all the time.  May I invoke some fundamental ``right not to be made fun of''?  No, I can quit the job; or I can complain to HR, which itself is there solely so that I don't quit and make the company lose money.

Now think about it, is there some way I could possibly stop them from making jokes about it, even behind my fat hairy back?  Yes!  By earning their respect and becoming one of them -- eventually, they'll end up going "dude, don't say that to him, that's not cool" to each other.

Now let's go back to your little gender discrimination problem.  If there's one thing IT people (and geeks in general) absolutely hate, it's to be treated like children and have another's will enforced upon them.  Most of them also consider ``polite language'' to be a sign of submission and censorship, or at best a pointless exercise.  If an idiot makes a sexist joke or act, now how do you react?  If you go up to him and go ``what you said there is offensive and I would appreciate if you would immediately cease and desist such behaviour'', he will feel as if he was being bossed around by someone who isn't even a boss, so he'll just go on the defensive and possibly do it again next time just to piss you off.  If instead you go ``dude that was fucking sexist'', he will see you as an equal since you are using the same language as he is; he might argue around a bit on whether that was actually ``fucking sexist'' or not, but he almost certainly won't do it again.  (Yes, I know that real actual hard-core chauvinists exist, but most of the time that's not the case at all.)

You claim that male geeks are less social than their female counterparts?  Well then, the previous paragraphs should be nothing new to you, girl.  So stop bitching and start socializing.

This is good advice for getting punched in the face harder than Snooki did, too bad the feminazis here are all male so it'll never come to fruition.
