Firefox keeps bugs unpatched for over 9 years

To give an example, the annoying "FTP server 215 ... is currently unsupported" message. This lingers from the way the old Mozilla (pre-Firefox) recognized FTP listings.

Unsupported FTP server "xxxxxxx" after login and SYST command

Unsupported FTP server "ITRON embedded printer OS"
This bug was reported in 2003, with various duplicates since then. They know what's causing the problem. Somebody sent in a patch and they still haven't fixed it. They're more concerned with bumping up the version numbers than a few simple bug fixes.

Almost a year later, and this shows up in the first bug I linked >>67 :

Considering bug 913734 removes CAPS completely from the browser

A powerful mechanism that could be used to set per-domain security settings, which was there but never went anywhere because those idiots were too busy fucking around with other shit, has now been completely removed? What the BLOODY GODDAMN FUCK!?!?!

But then, given that this happened not long ago...

...and that Australishit recently, maybe it's not too surprising after all.

I just checked, Mozilla's Firefox page still has this description:
"Firefox is created by a global non-profit dedicated to putting individuals in control online."

It's somewhat clever that they used "individuals", and not "users", since it can mean the ones in control are the bastards who are fucking things up so they can be in control of the users. What a bunch of doublespeak bullshit.

The future of web browsers does not look good at all.
