Be in functional programming class
Write racket code that is simple, easy to understand, debug, and quick to write
Get made fun of by people who make it in a few less lines of code, telling me I over-complicate things, even though their code seems more complex

I swear, half this class is a bunch of closet perl programmers.

People are going to compare themselves with each other. That's human nature. Don't worry about them if you solve your problem correctly.
