A junior student gave me a spare free license to use VS/VC++ for 2 years, I've always used codeblock for C# and C++ and Eclipse for JAVA, dunno If I should take this step, mostly because I don't feel like paying a 12k $ license once these 2 years end but is still tempting.
Can you give me a slight insight? Please not hurr durr use emacs/gentoo/etc
the only thing a programmer needs is something that tells them they either have something indented properly or checks braces, parens, and quotes

I've used Visual C# Express. It's not too bad and it's free!

True. For someone that wants to get their dick wet programming it's the least amount of hair pulling. Also Visual Studio isn't $12/y it $1200 new, $800 maintenance.
Me I suggest OP
1. Suck a bowl of dicks, cause op is a homo.
2. Go for it.

Only includes the 32-bit compiler, also lacks some things like ATL (not such a big deal, but can cause extra work).

I work in Visual Studio during my day job. Yeah, there are a couple things I miss in Vim/Emacs (powerful code-aware symbol navigation being the main one), but generally speaking I find the productivity advancements are heavily overblown.
Also, cant we just reverse engineer their crud and run it opensourced on mono for free? Why should open source care about legality at all, when it can just take?

I know you're trolling, but still. This is exactly why Microsoft doesn't use .NET for its own expensive programs.
http://www.noderunner.net/~llin/old/mmltraffic/3March02.html One of the writers in a recent publication on Sen even called Miyazaki perverse and a pedophile. . . Sen does contain one scene that shows a bit of 'skin,' but a lot depends on how you want to interpret that.
