1. Hard drive seems to get stuck, going click, click, click. click, click, click. click, click, click. click, click, click. For around 50 seconds, and then it gives up, and everything is ok again. Meanwhile, everything is frozen, and it does this about once every ten minutes.
2. The keys for p 0 - and [ don't work anymore. I have remapped them as home, delete, insert, and end, respectively. So I can no longer type commands like pushd and popd from the console. If one of the letters, s t a r t x, or any of the letters in my username and password break, I wont be able log in anymore.
3. Recently, strange noise has been going to the speakers. The microphone input seems to be hard wired to the speaker. I hear a boooo sound at a constant high frequency, whenever I press a key down. There is strange line noise going to the speaker whenever the fan turns on, or when the hard drive is accessed.
4. A metal hinge on the computer's display joint has frozen solid, and will never move. Trying to push the screen down now will cause parts of the plastic back to bend and fracture. I can't take my computer out of the house now.
5. Battery is dead. The red low battery light never stops blinking.
6. parts of the plastic bottom under the fan have snapped off, and are held together with tape.
7. The usb port has snapped in the past. It is now held in with glue, and to prevent further mechanical stress, a usb extension cable is plugged in all the time, and I attach and detach devices from there to avoid possibly breaking the one on my computer.
I've never found it more adorable. The new buzzing sound it makes every time a key is pushed is very charming.
