I am considering buying a new macbook air.

What do /prog/ think about mac os?

The software is great. The overpriced hardware is not.

After 7 years on OSX, I switched back to Linux. It was okay, but little things like the ongoing nonexistance of a decent package manager (no need to link to your favorite, I've extensively tried to use all of them and THEY'RE ALL PIECES OF SHIT), being always even so slightly behind Linux w.r.t. support for latest non-mainstream programming toys, and, to a smaller extent, the general direction where Apple is headed, made me go back. I'm not missing much.

The MBAir is great because of the screen resolution, the SSD, the size... Mac OS X is the best desktop UNIX you can get. And you can install Ubuntu if you need a GNU/Linux, hardware is supported on 11.10.

And Windows too if you're a fag.

MacOS = not open source = enjoy being assraped by corporations
