Bar Mitzvah

Medieval jews had an initiation ritual: on a Bar Mitzvah every young jew had to prove his loyalty to jewish community by drinking blood of a christian child. That was the strong insurance, he won't betray his people, as he shared the killing and guilt. Similar tactics are frequently used by Mafia to initiate new members: you know, when you have killed an innocent people, you wont betray your boss.
