Hash my anus

Is there a very quick way to make a unique string into a unique int64 or int32?

Now here's my problem, I already tried methods of doing said operation on a set of 1000000 strings, but it took up far to much time than wanted (~5s).

I'm trying to come up with a faster method of producing these unique values,etc.

Or a very quick way to convert a string into a char[]
