Obligatory Linux sucks thread

Hiding filenames begining with "." or "~" considered insecure.

If Bob, having a folder full of child porn, then moves it somewhere else, he has false sense of security, because law enforcement will easily find ".thumbnails" folder.

Same for Alice, who accidently deletes system files, thinking that folder is empty.

Why in the name of fuck do you have to rm -r first and then rmdir if you want to get rid of shit.
