English Prevalence in Programming Languages

How come most programming languages use English in their syntax?

like define, goto, allocate, end, print, return, integer, if, then, else, define etc

Is it an attempt by the western world to increase its global reach, or is it just an auxiliary language?

I wish to poke your eye out and skull fuck your brains out. France needs more cheese eating surrender monkeys and less pedantic dick heads changing words to sound "French enough" like ordinateur, or banning "le bleu jeans" from the usage.
