they didn't even show me proper file handling yet


Why would they do this?

*nix was designed for servers. Are you a server? If not, you shouldn't be using it. Anyone who uses it as a personal computer is just trying hard to seem intelligent. Real programmers understand it's easier to develop on Windows.
