That's cool and all but when I tried to download Emacs from the ArchGNU/Linux package repository it needed gconf which needed gtk3 which needed colord which needed sane which needed avahi. Why do I need all that shit for a text editor and Lisp interpreter?
Do I have to compile Emacs myself --without-gconf in order to keep my system virgin of GNOME shit?

Why wouldn't you compile Emacs yourself?
