Natural Language Parsing

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-19 13:47

Have any of you chaps & chapettes ever done anything to do with the computational processes in natural language parsing and can share your experiences?

I am playing around with it now. I probably know more about generative grammar than about programming, but I have at least knocked up some various shit in BASIC and C before. But until now, I have not programmed anything that can recognise "fluid" patterns and parse them. I wondered if anyone wanted to share their ideas.

I for one welcome our Lisper overlords.

Put a midget in a small metalic cylinder, like R2D2.

Good luck.

Also which one are you trying to parse? English?

No, Sepples.

Normal languages are illogical, you have to make special cases for everything.

For /prog/ languages, you can look at most Lisp-likes, as they usually include a Lisp-to-C "compiler".

If you want to try a fluid language, look up Ido. Perfect grammar, though it's outdated and doesn't have a lot of words it should. (Like it doesn't have computer, though it could be called computro)
