One major issue with base BBCode is the impossibility of efficiently combining multiple presentation tags. For instance, in the very common situation where the user wants to use bold and underlined and italic and overlined presentation for text, ey needs to use four tags, generating an important braces overhead. This extension tries to solve this problem by allowing combination of multiple presentation tags into one. Issues How can the user detect the presence of this extension? RESOLUTION: BBS vendors should give access to a file named `extensions.txt' via HTTP in the same virtual directory as the textboard. This file contains a space-separated list of supported extensions names. Further extensions to BBS should use the same method. The absence of this file should be interpreted with the meaning that the BBS implementation doesn't support any extensions. The user emself should not directly access the file, but instead a browser-specific interface. This allows the browser to simulate functionality and transparently present it to the user. Additions to BBCode One-letter long tags can be combined to form compound tags by concatenating them and removing inner braces. For instance, to present the text ``HAX MY ANUS!!'' as bold, overlined, italic, and underlined, the user might use ``[buio]HAX MY ANUS!![/buio]''. The result of using the same primitive tag multiple times in a compound is implementation- dependent.
