I am trying to learn more about computational engines on both aspects of gathering data and computing it to provide answers.

I'm trying to find the right path here.

I'm currently trying to learn:
Perl - raw data manipulation which often concerns text
Scheme - just because
Haskell - just exploring the available tools really
PROLOG - because the idea behind it is pretty cool
MySQL - to categorize data, although I suspect I might need costume data structure for efficiency
C - just revising it cause I never really got to use it much

Any more tools I should familiarize myself with?
What books do I need to get me started quickly?
What Math would be useful?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have and use volumes of that book.

I am not going to really learn these languages though. Just familiarize myself with them for now. Also, I might drop one or two if they prove useless for what I have in mind.

I know but most probably, I'll still need them to store and backup data before and after it has been categorized i.e. synonymous to secondary storage in computer.
