A critique on Facebook and programmers

Name: Anonymous 2011-06-21 10:34

Programmers, even Experts, don't have the power to remove a social network from its social construct. Even if the program they're trying to put on the web is exactly the opposite to this society, doing it by programming the exact same thing you see everywhere in the real world doesn't make seeing the same thing all over again less annoying or upsetting.

Not only that, but there's a thing people are missing when they defend a lot of socal networks: maybe some things are a little too stupid to be valuable? I don't think programmers are a blight upon the Earth that should be banned, but I also don't happen to enjoy watching coding error after coding error wreck my online experience. If you do, that's fine- you're an idiot; G-d knows it's about the only thing you're good for. But it's just not my thing, and I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one that feels that way.
