Are programmers going to become gods

by programming programs so smart and powerful they can do ALL human tasks better than humans? I'm new to programming but I like the idea of my programs being smarter and stronger than people. Sex-wise too. I've decided not to settle on programming in one "language" but to include all types of programming so diversity will bring strength and inbuilt failsafes. I think this will give me an enormous advantage over most on /prog/ who swear allegiance to one program. Thoughts?

Some problems just don't admit algorithms that can solve them in reasonable amounts of time (if they are solvable at all). If a problem can be solved by computable means and its solution can be reached in a finite amount of time (no matter how large), all you need is enough resources and time, both of which are finite so far in our universe, but if you do find yourself in a nicer universe and in a more comfortable state of existence, you could always just wait (pause yourself) until the computation is over.

Why does it even need a name? This is a vision of the future where one is not controlled by "names" and "languages". Where one has the freedom to use ALL names and languages to create a program that is so much more than the sum of its parts. Where talking about total freedom in programming that can only be realized if you stop this patriotic-like allegiance to one language/name.
