which linux distro?

Right now I'm using Ubuntu and Windows but I hate 11.04 so much and I have no need for windows anymore. I was wondering which distro you use or prefer and maybe a quick reason why? I'd like some good suggestions as to which best fits me. The best way to describe my situation is I know more than the average person about programming, OS, and computers in general, but definitely not as much as some of you gurus. All help is appreciated. Thank-you.

TLDR: Which linux distro and why?

Also, NEVER do Arch Linux -- it will make your computer as prone to malware as Windows (no proper signed package manager, are those people insane?).
