which linux distro?

Right now I'm using Ubuntu and Windows but I hate 11.04 so much and I have no need for windows anymore. I was wondering which distro you use or prefer and maybe a quick reason why? I'd like some good suggestions as to which best fits me. The best way to describe my situation is I know more than the average person about programming, OS, and computers in general, but definitely not as much as some of you gurus. All help is appreciated. Thank-you.

It will still be in the repos. Hell, you could just install XFCE if GNOME 2 gets completely "deprecated".

On another note, do UI developers really have absolutely no sense of usability at all? Ever since Windows 2000 and KDE3, all major operating systems have done nothing but regress in terms of usability. What the fuck.
