1.Desire to create superior software
2.Desire for fame and increased social status
3.Social status influences survival
4.Fame influences reproduction

Breathing → Will to live. → Don't want to die. → Fear of death → Fear of the inevitable → Doing something to delay a disgrace → Escaping from reality.
