Hello /prog/
i am a beginner with programming.
i learned some html bs back in the day, but recently began teaching myself some C and Python & scheme.
i have most all of the very basics down with the syntax of C and python, but obviously nothing complicated, only simply little programs.
I Plan to become very good at whatever it is i do.

Anyways. i have a few questions.
1) I understand that learning the Syntax of programming isnt enough, i have to learn the logic and times to use what, i suppose. Would anyone be able to elaborate on what i should try to be learning past the syntax, and how it helps.

2)How far along should i get to be considered a good programmer in an Office environment, because id like to make a career out of this in some way. And i hear all the time that people in offices are idiots who dont really take the time to get good at what they do, so blowing by them might not be so far fetched.

3) what should i concentrate on in order to get a decent job, And How easy is it to get a job once i get my shit together with this kind of skill.
and what kinds of jobs should i go after.
and Is a college degree very important in this line of work?

as you could tell u am at a crossroads in my life, any help with any of these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
