Why are they all so bad at programming?
This is my second semester at Uni and I am seriously helping seniors complete their idiotic Java programming assignments. It took me three fucking hours to explain one guy the difference between a compiler and an interpreter.
I thought Universities would be filled with programming geniuses, what the hell?

This place: I have been there.
The answer you seek is simple. They're not programmers. They're SPODs that happened to major in computing. The reality is that by enabling them, instead of letting them fail into an English degree, you're just hurting society.
So fucking stop it already.

I would, but they pay me good money and I need to make rent.
If you needed three hours to explain the difference between a compiler and an interpreter then you are an idiot.

Myth #7: A Ph.D. means something.
---------------------------------
Reality: The only thing a Ph.D. means is that you're a moron, and you're willing to put up with the bullshit it takes to slog your way through a Ph.D. program somewhere. Empirically, having a Ph.D. is negatively correlated with business success.

Calculus is a pseudo-science, because you can't show us "infinity set" IRL.

But I can see bacteria with microscope!!1 So microbiology must be a real science.

But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:36-37)

A perfect programmer is a cheap and easily replaceable code-monkey which does exactly what it's told to do by some smart people. Those students just don't feel like making their hands dirty with actual programming - they know they don't need it to become rich and successful. A few years later you'll see them taking serious positions in management and dictating their will to a cheap labour scum aka programmers.

This is why jewish managers hate Lisp so much.
I am finishing my second year in community college and all ready to transfer to a university.
I have aced all my CS courses.
The only thing I know about compilers and interpreters is that they're probably very important things because those words come up a lot.

You still should be happy, because in russia, for example, CS courses aren't related to computers at all, you find there only set theory, calculus, physics and other useless infinity crap.
