so, I'm going to start using C# with XNA soon, I'm not a very experienced programmer, but I can do some cool things with Java so C# should be fine. I'm going with C# because I want to make very simple fun games (2D platformers, puzzle games).
I'm not that worried about the programming, but the legal stuff got me a bit confused. Assuming that in a few years I got the experience to make a game that people want to buy, do I need to take care of any legal stuff or do I need to pay royalties to anyone? With visual studio you get anything you need to program a game for free, so I doubt I can just make things and make money off them without needing to give credit or money to someone, right (assuming I wouldn't use any external libraries outside of XNA)?
