I worked on various pieces of proprietary software at freer logic. If I were to make a demo of some type, I'd like to use open game engine, but it's extremely buggy and still in its alpha stages. But for those that are interested, check it out. It uses good object oriented design principles, it's flexible, and has a high degree of modularity. That said c++ or c#. Other languages carry too much overhead.
