Design Patterns

Name: Hey PROG 2010-12-08 4:51

Can you guys tell me about design patterns in software a bit?? I'm just a lowly web developer, so all I really have experience with are singletons and MVC! Is there any that you guys implement frequently? And what for?

Closure ``objects'' in LISP.

Not too many, pretty much most of the ``design patterns'' I would have to use disappear when I use a good language. see: http://norvig.com/design-patterns/ppframe.htm
Of course, there are many simple coding patterns, but they are too simple for me to justify calling them a pattern, and if they are large enough, I can abstract them further using a macro.

I simulate OOP in C. That's the only real pattern I use.

I simulate OOP in Haskell using existential quantification (GlasgowHaskellCompilerLanguageExistentialQuantificationPattern), and I also use GlasgowHaskellCompilerLanguageUnicodeSyntaxPattern.
