In the second half of 2003, nearly 80,000 people were admitted to ERs across the country suffering from marijuana related problems.

A single joint contains four times as much cancer-causing tar as a filtered cigarette.

Heavy marijuana use has been linked with depression, anxiety, and personality disturbances.

In 2002, more than 285,000 people entered drug treatment programs to kick their marijuana habit.

Smoking any substance increases your risk of developing pneumonia and other illnesses.

Even if everything he says is accurate, it's not remotely damning.

Not a habitual user here, but >>6 must be some troll/copypasta from some anti-drug propaganda media. The arguments don't paint the full picture.

ERs? What were those problems? Did they pose any health risk at all?

Really? I found it very doubtful, but even if it were true, people have alternate ways to consume it that don't involve inhaling smoke.
In 2002, more than 285,000 people entered drug treatment programs to kick their marijuana habit.
This part is the biggest WTF of all. The drug causes no real physical additiction. People use it because they like it, just like people have favorite foods, snacks, or they always watch a TV show they like, in the worse case scenario, it could be compared to some MMO "addicts" or sex "addicts", but that is doubtful. In reality, since no physical addition exists, the choice rests solely with the user, however if the user finds something pleasant, of course they might choose to do it again.

Sure. Smoking itself is bad for your lungs and other people's lungs. It's still not the only method of consuming it, also I'd estimate people smoke a lot more cigarretes on average than they smoke weed, thus the overall amount of smoke inhaled by a tobacco smoker is much higher.

Why did I even answer this... Back to /b/ with you and me ;_;

People enter those programs because they're ordered to by the courts. If it were legalized, that number would shrink to approximately zero.

As for the others, he has the causal arrows backwards in the case of the (already controversial) link with ``depression, anxiety, and personality disturbances'', and the rest mistakenly assumes that people are arguing that marijuana is perfectly healthy, instead of just healthier than drugs that are perfectly legal, like tobacco.
