CAN U HALP W/MY UBANTO???

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-14 11:00

The only thing that's really wrong with Ubanto is the userbase. That is enough.

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-14 11:36

Retain backwards compatibility or leave the old world behind. Choose one.

This pisses me off so much!  Even more than someone not providing enough information.

Ubanto gets its packages from sid. That's plenty wrong in its own right.

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-15 0:58

Ubuntu users

sudo rm -rf /

I'm afraid to do this even though I'm perfectly aware that this won't work with GNU rm. I'm such a pussy. :-(

The arrogance is the other way around. Ubuntu universe is community maintained by volunteers. None appear to be interested in maintaining gcc 3.3. We volunteer to make Ubuntu better and our collective judgment is that gcc 3.3 is too old to be maintainable.

Personally, I find the demanding tone from some in this bug very offputting. Ubuntu is culturally a do-acracy. People who do stuff decide about it. Nothing prevents people who want this back in the archive from getting involved in Ubuntu development and getting it back. The best response to this concern so far is the person that put it in a PPA.

Arguing in this bug is extremely unlikely to change things.

Fixing this "libstdc" issue devours our time from Real High priority problems such as this:

Bug Description

Lenovo Thinkpad X201 & T410 both use Conexant ID 5069. When you plug a microphone into the micrphone jack it does not autoswitch to that input. Instead it keeps recording from the microphone built into the laptop.

Using Ubantu for two years, never had a problem with bugs. What the fuck is wrong with people?

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-15 1:49

They are arrogant enough to demand that Ubuntu keep itself backward compatible with old "GCC" libraries. Such ancient shit like GCC should be removed entirely.

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-15 1:54

That's why I have ubuntu. Oh. Also I hate almost every bugreport system. I can care so much that I want to send bugreport. But when these naggers ask me to tell email where they'll send confirmation, I go to /g/ and whine there instead.
