Some painters may take a mild interest in what ingredients are used to make the various colors in their paints. It may even, in some removed and circuitous way, provide them with some understanding of how ingredients interact to produce certain effects.
But most painters are content with the tools they have, and are instead interested in perfecting their craft. And if they want to test the interactions between their paints, they can do so with the paints themselves, without bothering with ingredients at all.
