What the poo is the difference between Ruby Symbols and Ruby Hashes? They seem to be the exact same thing with a different syntax to me.

a[:b] = c
a["b"] = c

Thus, processor 1’s load from y occurs before processor 0’s store to y, implying r2 == 0.
implying r2 == 0.
