Any /prog/rammers know anything about satellite receiver programming?

I don't know were to being and the usual sat forum is of no help what so ever.

BTW doing this for the lulz. I don't even watch TV any more.

I don't want to dissuade you from doing something if you are truly interested in it, but there are probably better ways to spend your time and money.  There's certainly a challenge involved, if you're up to the task of serious hardware hacking and decryption cracking and constantly adapting to the latest protection schemes - but if you just want to mess around and do something fun using the work of other hackers/crackers, you'll eventually get incredibly frustrated if it doesn't work out for you.

And if you really want to watch pay TV, you're much better off just paying for a cable or satellite subscription.

If you are truly interested in working on a project like this, I recommend trying to find something a bit more constructive.
